Charles
From a young child, Charles and his brothers had a fascination for all things mechanical. This combined with spending their weekends on Lake Windermere in their Albatross speed boat, sealed his love for boats.

Whilst having a successful career as a Chef, this love of boats never diminished, and in his spare time refurbished several canal boats. Even taking an evening course to achieve his City and Guilds in welding.
​
Charles has lived afloat with his partner, Lorna, for the past sixteen years. Their last project, totally fitting out a brand-new sail away shell, as their dream home. He is really proud that Waterways World carried out a six-page spread once it was completed titled “A DIY job to rival the professionals.
​
Charles is a fully qualified Boat and Hire Fleet Safety Examiner.
Alan
​
Alan, Charles' father-in-law, has salt-water running through his veins! He comes from a sea-faring family and having been sent to a Naval boarding school from a young age, it was not surprising that he carved out a career as an Electronics Radio Officer and a Marine Engineer in the merchant Navy.
​
Even on leave he would take Lorna and the rest of the family on narrowboat holidays which eventually lead him to buy his own narrowboat.
​
Alan is a fully qualified Boat Safety Examiner and also Hire Fleet Safety Examiner.
Lorna
Lorna takes care of the admin, consolidates Charles and Alans diaries and tries her best to keep them both in check!

Alfie
Alfie lives with Charles and Lorna on their boat and also works part-time as the local pest control officer!
